Prize Comment

We are extremely proud that our app Nott Won’t Sleep won the Digital Ehon Prize. With our apps we aim to give every child in the world a happy and healthy live. Our apps address themes children age 2 till 5 encounter.

The basis of Nott Won’t Sleep is a storyline written by literary novelist Renate Dorrestein. Nott is not in the least inclined to go to sleep, but after collecting her cuddly toy and het bed-light; saying goodbye to her friends and the moon, she loves to close her eyes and enter dreamland.

With Nott Won’t Sleep we crossed the line between a game and an interactive book. The app became an innovative form of blended media that is very appealing and fun to young children.
Winning the renowned Digital Ehon Prize, we feel encouraged to create additional apps of high quality that add happiness and healthiness to young children’s lives. It is an honor to be acknowledged by such a highly experienced and skillfull jury and we thank the organization of the Digital Ehon Event and the Digital Chrildren’s Bookfair.

I think this app is suitable for the prize because of its features like game that match the story which can be developed by touching with fingers. It is very interesting. I chose it because I hope that this kind of Digital Ehon will be produced more. (Yuichi Kimura, picture book writer)

I think storytelling to put children to bed is usually makes chilrens want read parents read more as a result. The grand prize app of this award is wonderful and well-design for bedtime storytellig. Children should get sleepy gradually as they are into the world of the story without turning pages and language. We still remember picture books that read by parents before going to bed even when we become an adult. I think that memories of storytelling of Digital Ehon by parents at bed time would be an opportunity to make childrens become creative in the future.
