Prize Comment
“Neko-Mikke” is the game that you find a slinking cat hiding in this Digital Ehon. This app includes enjoyable functions that are hard to realize for paper book format such as the place where a cat hides and shortstories you can see are changes every time. Besides, you can decide hiding place of the cat and play with your friends in the same mannar as hide & seek, which can encourage communications via Digital Ehon. I have planned the proposal of operation in this app thinking about intuitiveness which every young toddolers can play. The attractions of this app are a annoying but cute character which kids are easy to love and being able to develop rich communication with imagination throughout playing with a new way of expression as Digital Ehon.

A Pictre book is the first “book” for children to memt a book for the first time in their life. One picture, one word and characters. Children can get the flow of time and take part in the story by turning pages. How does digital-native children think of picture book made of paper that we have made by utilizing the technology of printing so far? This, “Neko-Mekke” is good for the character of a slinking cat. This app enables readers to not only “serching” but “hiding” a cat. Some slight digital mechanism expand and make the world and the story with variation. Rearers can play this app both by their own and with friends. I’m looking foward to that the new epression of Digital Ehon will make good opportunities for kids to meet “the fist book”. (Tsuguhiko Kadokawa, chairman of the board of KADOKAWA, Inc.)
